Planning - Historic Environment & Townscape


Paul is a Chartered Town Planner and member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation and has for over 20 years provided advice on all aspects of planning and the historic environment across the UK.
His experience includes advising private clients on single householder projects in sensitive heritage contexts, the adaptation and reuse of complex listed buildings, and the promotion and delivery of new strategic housing developments and supporting infrastructure.
Paul often acts as the historic environment and townscape adviser to large multi-disciplinary design teams at the project feasibility and planning submission stages. His work includes identifying heritage-related risks and opportunities, together with consultation with local planning authorities, local amenity societies, and national organisations such as Historic England.
He also has particular expertise advising on the implementation of consented proposals affecting heritage assets, including the discharge of detailed listed building consent conditions, and the consideration of amended proposals.
