    Ben Tosland advises on the historic environment, townscape and visual amenity. He has an interest in how these elements intersect with spatial planning issues, such as Metropolitan Open Land and Green Belt designations.

    He has a specific interest in 20th century buildings and has started a working group relating to matters concerning post-war buildings. Ben holds a PhD in Architecture History and is currently a Part Time Lecturer at New York University London. His book on the architects Godwin and Hopwood will be published by Birkhauser in 2024.

    Ben works across sectors and has advised on numerous high profile and prestigious projects. These include Bromley-by-Bow Gasworks (St William), Springfield Hospital (Barratts) and on a number of build to rent schemes for John Lewis Partnership.
