Key information
Montagu Evans have provided strategic town centre regeneration advice to the Council from 2012 up until 2019.
The relationship has seen the transformation of the town into an award winning experience-led destination securing significant private sector investment. Leading on negotiations with the development partner (Legal & General and Schroders) we removed the barriers to delivery with the Council taking on greater levels of leadership, control and financial input.
In order to enable the significant investment, this has involved several projects covering retail, leisure, housing, health, infrastructure and civic uses. The latest phase is the £30m ‘Deck’, a leisure led project, repurposing a former department store.
