Montagu Evans has appointed data and socio-economics expert Morgan Reece as an Associate, working primarily with its town centre and commercial sector specialist teams.

Morgan brings with him almost a decade of expertise and joins from Mace Strategic Advisory where he focused on the social value and community impacts of development, particularly town centre repurposing and masterplanning. He has also worked with retail data specialist FSP.

In this newly created role, Morgan will work closely with our planning and development consultancy professionals to support the firm’s advice to both public and private sector clients, including local authorities, government bodies, owners and developers. He will oversee socio-economic and community value strategies for major projects, prepare technical impact assessment reports and develop business cases to support planning applications, masterplan strategies and regeneration plans.

Craig Blatchford, Head of Planning said: “Good data is essential for all aspects of the planning and development lifecycle – from initial site searches and housing land supply assessments, through development feasibility studies and options appraisals to economic benefit statements. But to be truly useful it needs to be managed, interrogated and interpreted not only with a high level of skill but also a deep understanding of ultimate objectives to ensure can add the most value to clients and the community within which it is proposed. In Morgan we have someone with this capability – he will bring extensive experience and insight to the role and we look forward to welcoming him into our teams.”
