Pye is Head of Sustainability

Oli Pye is Head of Sustainability at Montagu Evans and has worked in real estate sustainability and ESG for over a decade.

He’s supported numerous private and public sector real estate and infrastructure clients, at the portfolio and asset level and at various stages of the property lifecycle. In the earlier part of his career, his role was tipped towards supporting bluechip London-based property companies on integrating sustainability into their planning and development programmes, whilst latterly he’s been more focused on supporting large asset managers on integrating sustainability into large pan-European property portfolios.

Oli’s role at Montagu Evans includes working with our business lines to enhance integration of sustainability and ESG advice into our external client-facing services. He also drives forward our internal sustainability programme, including our net zero carbon commitment and pathway.

Key skills

• Development of a strategic vision and approach to sustainability, ESG, climate risk and net zero carbon. Senior leadership and wider stakeholder engagement and workshopping, materiality assessment and writing policies
• Managing sustainability programme delivery across the property lifecycle and value chain, engaging the full breadth of stakeholders (e.g. fund, asset, property, facilities, development managers and design teams). Set-up and maintenance of business processes and procedures to enable delivery of sustainability, for example through development of ISO 14001 accredited Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
• Development and delivery of sustainability training plans, tailored to the audience (e.g., senior team through to site operatives). Emphasis on making sustainability/ESG simple and accessible, inspiring and motivating. Giving people the confidence to adopt sustainability as a core skill and responsibility
• Set up of sustainability data capture and monitoring platforms/dashboards. Internal quarterly performance monitoring and reporting. External reporting in line with GRESB, TCFD, SDGs, UN PRI, EPRA, INREV, CDP and GRI
• Compliance management – EPCs/MEES, EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulations
