Completion Notices are a mechanism used by Billing Authorities to allow a liability to be levelled against a property which is not yet complete.
These Notices can be challenged, thereby delaying the date that a property first enters the Rating List. This can result in significant savings to either landlords or owner-occupiers.
We will scrutinise Completion Notices on receipt or, where possible, seek to prior agree an appropriate date with the Billing Authority to ensure that exposure to unnecessary liability is avoided.
Empty rates are a significant cost to many landlords. We can advise on savings opportunities and have successfully reduced empty rates for clients undertaking refurbishments or redevelopment works.
