Residential Development Details


The site is located approximately 3 miles to the south-east of Edinburgh City Centre, adjacent to an established  esidential area, Edinburgh BioQuarter and the Royal Infrmary of Edinburgh campus.

The site is located within the Edinburgh Green Belt, although the immediate area is undergoing significant change. The Edinburgh BioQuarter is to expand up to the western boundary of the site, with a mix of uses consented in the Edinburgh BioQuarter and South-East Wedge Supplementary Guidance approved by City of Edinburgh Council (CEC) in 2014. The uses include residential aspart of the mix.

Planning permission has been granted for residential development on the neighbouring south-eastward site, for 696 dwellings (planning ref. 14/01057/PPP). Miller Homes and Crudenare currently delivering 110 dwellings on the site immediately to the south.

The site is currently being considered for allocation for residentia ldevelopment as part of the new Edinburgh City Plan 2030 which is currently under preparation.
