We are on the lookout for several talented Chartered Surveyors seeking to work on some of the most high profile and interesting development projects in London and across the UK.

You will be working in the 35-strong Development team, advising a mix of mainly public, but also private, sector clients on development projects. You could be helping clients deliver housing and key infrastructure, re-invigorate redundant assets, unlock new income streams through development and asset management or use your negotiation skills to solve a development dispute, maximising value for our loyal client base.

About the role

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Reporting into Partners within the Development team on a project-by project basis
  • Constructing and interpreting complex development appraisals and financial models
  • Preparing formal reports and valuations supporting development agency strategy
  • Bringing development opportunities to the market and working with clients and solicitors to contractual close
  • Helping manage graduate and newly qualified surveyors to deliver against specific project and client objectives
  • Assist with mentoring junior staff including helping guide career development
  • Cross-selling Montagu Evans’ range of consultancy and agency services to clients
  • Getting involved with client focus sector groups including London, Town Centres and Transport and Infrastructure
  • Identifying and sourcing/securing new business
  • Promoting our activities and experience internally/externally

About you

  • Surveyor to Associate level
  • MRICS qualified (required) and RICS Registered Valuer (highly desirable)
  • A keen interest in development and making a difference to the built environment
  • A head for figures and ability to prepare accurate development appraisals (Argus and Excel)
  • Experience in development consultancy and agency
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Understanding the public sector policies and processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with clients
  • Prepared to contribute to supporting the wider business
  • Ability to take the initiative and think strategically about projects
