Affordable Housing Viability and Residential Development Consultancy

Will joined Montagu Evans in 2011 and sits within the Housing Team. He specialises in the preparation of Financial Viability Assessments on behalf of developers and landowners. These assessments, prepared as part of planning applications, justify the level of affordable housing contributions that a development can support. Following submission of these assessments to the Local Authority, Will enters into negotiations so that an agreement with regards affordable housing is reached. Through this work Will is very experienced in the financial modelling of residential and mixed-use developments, the basis of the Benchmark Land Value (a key comparator in Financial Viability Assessments), affordable housing policy, the preferences of Registered Providers, and the mechanics of S106 Agreements.

Will is also an RICS Registered Valuer and prepares Red Book Valuations for residential and mixed-use development sites on behalf of lenders and borrowers. His experience of development appraisals means he also provides feasibility advice at the design stage in order to optimise a scheme. Will’s client base includes major housebuilders, private developers, Prop Cos, and Registered Providers.
