With over 40 years of experience in all aspects of real estate, Andrew has a strong record in corporate real estate and has dealt with all types of property including office, industrial, residential, leisure and retail. He spent 18 years as Managing Director of Siemens Real Estate with responsibility for North West Europe and was responsible for a portfolio of 1.6 million square metres of property across UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, The Baltic States and Poland.
He was responsible for substantial change in their portfolio’s size to future safe Siemen’s current and future needs. The cost reduction plans he implemented achieved savings of €32.7 million annually. He was also responsible for the initiation of space efficiency programme introducing modern ways of working and utilising technology to enable greater flexibility for the workforce. His programme delivered a 25% reduction of space and more than 25% of reduced annual running costs.
Before this Andrew was a Director then Chairman of the Thames Valley Economic Partnership which involved promoting the Thames Valley as a location and working with Government and others to achieve infrastructure and other improvements. Previous work has also included identifying and developing a site for the Urban Sustainability Centre in London’s Docklands. This was to be ready in time for the London Olympics in the summer of 2012. This was achieved on time and was the first building to achieve LEED Platinum and BREEAM Outstanding accreditation. Additionally he served on the panel of experts for The Barker Review of Planning.
