To develop or not to develop that is the question!

As a planning consultant we spend a lot of time doing investigative work to find out pieces of information which can have wide-ranging implications on the development potential of a scheme.

 

This week my research work has ranged from simple planning history searches to writing a Planning Statement for application submission. One of the trickiest was navigating through the Advertisement Regulations 2007 to work out whether proposed signage required planning permission.

 

This week was also the first time that I have undertaken appeal work on the non-determination of an application. This included thoroughly examining every piece of evidence relevant to the scheme and collating all correspondence with the Council which will hopefully result in a planning inspector approving the scheme.

 

We also had our Professional Services / Planning catch-up meeting this week where our team gave them the latest information on office to residential permitted development rights and their team presented on ‘gaining vacant possession’. The meeting concluded with some old-fashioned ‘networking’ down the pub. This is another thing I love about Montagu Evans, the social scene is great.
