Summer has certainly arrived in London and at Monty’s we have been making the most of the favourable weather.
On the social front, as referenced in our July post, Monty’s hosted their annual summer party at an exclusive roof top bar just off Oxford Street. This was a great opportunity for the whole firm to congregate together in one place and provides graduates with the freedom to socialise with colleagues in an informal situation, as well as meeting and mixing with peers from our Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh offices. As ever it proved to be a successful night; as it turns out there is no better way to build on both working and social relationships with colleagues than a few drinks in the summer sun coupled with some suspect dance moves.
Following on with the summer theme, I have recently been involved with refreshing Monty’s graduate video which is due to be unveiled on our updated website in the coming weeks - watch this space! As a self-proclaimed movie star, I was more than happy to volunteer. This entailed a Q&A session relating to my experience on the graduate scheme as well as making the best use of our surroundings with shots being filmed in sunny Green Park and the office roof terrace.
Over the last few weeks, we have also welcomed a handful of summer interns who will be rotating internally across 2 departments whilst on their one-month placement with the firm. The interns have proved to be a fantastic asset to the team, and I know personally that they have been involved with an array of interesting projects enabling them to further their real estate knowledge and experience. I would certainly recommend the internship programme to anyone considering a career in real estate. Speaking from personal experience there really isn’t any better way to gain an insight into the property world than to experience it first hand, and I believe this is something the current interns would testify as well. Find out more information on how to apply on our website.
As ever I remain busy within the corporate real estate team with a stimulating range of work from undertaking valuations on behalf of a mixture of clients to agency type roles. Let’s hope my remaining few months within the team continue to be as exciting and varied as the previous ones and pray that the sun carries on shining.
