Summer is approaching and team members are beginning to take annual leave to enjoy some well earned time off.
Over the past couple of weeks I have had the opportunity monitored a couple of projects for a colleague who has been away. It is interesting to get straight into the thick of a project which requires you to quickly understand the current situation so that we are able to assist the client with any queries that they may have.
This week I undertook my first site visit with a planning officer, unaccompanied by another member of the team. I had submitted a planning application a couple of weeks previously and this week took the officer around the building to show him the existing layout and the location of the proposed development which involved the creation of a roof terrace. Overall the visit went well and no problems were encountered.
I also had my annual appraisal this which went very well. Although I have only been at the company for 9 months I feel I am progressing my knowledge and understanding of the job and managing the many requirements it has. I have enjoyed it immensely and over the next year I look forward to building on what I have learnt so far.
