Every first week of the month the Partners host a lunch with all the graduates in the Firm so that everybody can catch up with each other. It was a great opportunity to meet up with everybody and discuss how everyone has been getting on in recent months.
Just before Christmas I had my graduation from the University of Reading and became a Licentiate Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute. This means I can now focus on becoming a qualified planner and doing my APC. As part of this planners (and surveyors) must carry out a certain amount of CPD each year to develop learning and expertise. This week I read the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations to gain some background knowledge into an upcoming job, as well as attended a CPD seminar from Environ on the same subject which consolidated the reading.
This week I also submitted an application for a client for an extension to an office. The application was a quick turnaround which was prepared and submitted within just two days. This required efficient working and flexibility on our part to meet the deadline given by the client.
