4 weeks. 4 whole weeks have gone by. How did that happen? I have just begun a two-year graduate scheme in the planning department at Montagu Evans. So far, it has been a rewarding, exciting, challenging and fast-paced experience – one that I am very happy to be involved in.
My first week entailed meeting my new colleagues, including other new graduates, lots of interesting training sessions, but also a fun ‘Escape The Room’ team-building game and a delicious lunch at Wagamama’s. During week two and three, I was involved in various planning projects, including drafting several planning appraisals and submitting planning applications through the online planning portal. I also helped with a residential project from the beginning of its tendering stage. I attended the initial design meeting in Romford.
My fourth week was even more exciting; I went on an annual trip to Budapest with the whole planning department. It was a fantastic way to get to know all of the team, whilst exploring the beautiful city with an organised heritage tour! This was followed by drinks and introductory speeches where I was properly initiated into the team at Montagu Evans!!
Here’s to the next six months; pressing forward with my personal and professional development and becoming more involved in a wide variety of projects in the planning team.
