The last month has been a busy one in property management as we have been preparing quarterly reports.
I work within shopping centre management so this means compiling a range of information from a variety of people. This includes liaising with shopping centre managers to obtain Health and Safety and footfall data, as well as talking to the letting agents to obtain details of Heads of Terms alongside terms of lease renewals and rent reviews for each of tenants in the centres. This can be anything up to 45 different occupiers in each centre so it's been all hands on deck and heads down.
Once this is done I get to travel to each of the four shopping centres I help manage around the UK. There I present the report and discuss any key issues. Additionally, many of our shopping centres are undergoing multi-million pound refurbishments so there will usually be a walk around site to inspect progress and talk to tenants.
The best part of this time in property management is its variety. You never know what you will be dealing with on the day and you will be chatting to a range of different people from security guards to Fund Managers. As a result, you can be guaranteed there will never be a dull moment!
