Montagu Evans were represented for the fourth year running at Propski 2017, “the ski trip for property professionals to meet, compete and network with their peers.”
270 property professionals, including Annie Wilkins from Monty’s, headed to the resort of Tignes, in the Espace Killy area of France with 300 km of pistes and 90 ski lifts to explore for a week in January.
The networking began on the ‘Snow train’ with 50 propskiers taking the Eurostar directly from St Pancras to Bourg St Maurice, which is just a 45 minute transfer to resort. This is by far the most sociable way to travel, with City Voice sponsoring an exclusive carriage and all food and drink provided for the 8 hour journey.
It was an action packed week, with early starts to put tracks in the untouched pistes and wipe away the sore heads from the previous night, followed by long days of skiing, après ski events, networking and dinners.
There are numerous events throughout the week, in order to meet new people, enhance your network and socialise with those you already know on the trip, a few of these include:
The Macdonald & Company Race Day which took place on the ski slalom course down into Val Claret. With men’s and women’s ski and snowboard races along with a team event and the M J Mapp Masters Cup for those over 35. Annie Wilkins slipped to fourth position on the women’s downhill slalom event after having come second last year. But it was a great day with a competitive atmosphere and plenty of vin chaud and a bbq for spectators and competitors alike.
The Paragon Mountain Meal was held in Le Panoramic Restaurant at 3,000 m. All 270 propskiers travelled to the restaurant by a private Funicular railway, where a three course meal was served and following this the Landaid raffle and auction raised over £7,000 for charity.
The Revcap Mountain Challenge attracted teams of 6-8 surveyors to take to the slopes in fancy dress, using their orienteering skills to find points from an OS map on the mountain and complete a number of challenges en route. These included a human pyramid, taking a jump on the airbag and kissing a lift attendant! With employees from Montagu Evans, Savills, LocatED and Colliers, good cross company team work meant the team came in a respectable 6 th position.
It was a fantastic week on the slopes, enhanced by the opportunity to meet new property professionals, and enhance relationships with those who you already know and market Montagu Evans in an informal environment.
A huge thank you to Montagu Evans for their support.
