In my experience, an event with ‘athlon’ in the title usually involves a swim, cycle and a run. In this case, the swim was replaced by an abseil off the top of the 539 ft high Broadgate Tower. The run was covered by a scale of 877 steps (35 floors) up the tower and the cycle was 10 minutes of sprint spinning on the plaza grounds.
Always up for a challenge, the Montagu Evans team of Matt Moran, Oliver Petch and Will Jarman (myself) signed on for an exciting/thrilling/sweaty Friday afternoon at work. Matt sprung up the lengthy staircase in a respectable time of 7.40 minutes. Oli threw himself 8km in 10 minutes on a spin bike, whilst I jumped off the top of the tower, secured firmly by a particularly unforgiving harness.
The day was rounded off by awards held in a nearby bar networking with other property professionals. A top ending to an exhilarating Friday afternoon at work.
Please see the finalised video of the event by following this link HERE to the news item on our website. It becomes clear that this was no usual ‘working’ Friday afternoon activity.
