This week I attended a meeting with the case officer for a planning application at The Spires Shopping Centre, Barnet.
At this meeting the architect and client of the project presented the proposals and answered any queries the case officer had. I attended to structure the meeting and ensure any issues were addressed prior to the case officer making a decision on the application.
I have been allocated a new large scale project working with several members of the department involving various hospital sites across London. This will be a long term project and will give me valuable experience in dealing with a number of issues including heritage and land use.
I attended a pre-application meeting with Partner Peter Bovill for an application involving the change of use from a restaurant to residential and a basement extension took place later in the week in Royal Borough of Kensington & Chlesea. At this meeting the client and architect discussed the proposed scheme for a single residential dwelling with the allocated case officer. We found this exercise beneficial in moving the project forward to submitting a formal planning application.
On Tuesday a number of staff from the Montagu Evans Mayfair head office took part in the LandAid 10k Summer Fun Run to raise money for disadvantaged kids. The race place in Regents Park with several other property related companies. We all completed the run in excellent times and thoroughly enjoyed the event.
