Before Christmas I submitted a number of requests for pre-application advice with Councils in London and the South East for various schemes.
This week I was able to attend my first pre-application meeting. We met the case officer on site in Maidenhead, Berkshire and took her through the proposals and discussed her main issues and observations with the scheme. This was the first formal meeting which I had attended with a local authority planning officer and was a great way of seeing the relationship between the private and public sectors of planning.
This week I also created a briefing note for a colleague in the Valuation team, offering my advice on the principal planning issues. I provided commentary on the feasibility of redevelopment of a nursery building in north London. Montagu Evans are a multi-disciplinary firm that really works together to get the best results for our clients to ultimately maximise the value of their assets. Working so closely with another department showed me the importance of inter-deparmental working within the Firm.
