The sun is shining, and I'm still in my role in the corporate real estate team with market value reports flying in!
These reports require us to value a site based on what sort of development will be able to achieve the best value. It's great for valuation competency and really gets you thinking of why and what you put on the site. I've been involved in sites ranging from just a couple of houses to a huge 100+ unit residential site with a mix of flats and houses, so the varied work makes it especially interesting - and when the sun's shining like this, it's a great opportunity to get out the office and inspect the sites!
We also just recently welcomed the incoming graduates with a few drinks in town, which is a nice way for them and us to be introduced in a more relaxed environment.
On a social level the property softball league has also begun with games being played against other companies every Wednesday - another great way to network with people in the office that you wouldn’t usually see on a day to day basis as well as a mix of people from other companies (another excuse for a few drinks in the park!).
Coming up, we also have the firm summer party which is bound to be a good one, as well as a few of the grads heading off to Lords for the T20 and enjoying box seats at the O2 with a few clients. It is bound to be a busy and fun next couple of weeks!
