5 months in to my seat in Office Agency and I am getting stuck into some acquisitions of my own, albeit tiddlers. They’re not the most impressive units but it’s good to get out and about and apply what I have learned helping more senior colleagues.
Over the last few months I have been working on both disposals and acquisitions. I have been working on everything from prime Grade A space in the West End to railway arches in Southwark which both appeal to very different types of occupier. My knowledge of the London market has improved exponentially, as well as key drivers of office rental values, something that will help me wherever I end up post APC.
One benefit of working in the Office Agency team is getting out and meeting lots of different kinds of people. However, leaving an air-conditioned office isn’t always preferable at this time of year. We have recently been instructed to dispose of some space in Clerkenwell which makes a change from the West End but also means bearing the heat of the Central Line for a few stops when carrying out viewings.
All in all I have really enjoyed my time in the team. It represented a big change from my previous seat in Professional Service but something that I am all the better for. Moving into my next seat I will be sad to see the back of the large number of office launches and social events that working in the team entails, but also keen to build further on my experiences with just over a year to go until my APC.
